The project lands are part of a more than 1,000-acre master-planned community that includes commercial, industrial, residential, office, natural and park areas. The lands front Highway 17, the main roadway which links Metro Vancouver to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal and Vancouver Island. The recently opened South Fraser Perimeter Road has greatly improved access to Tsawwassen Commons from the surrounding eastern municipalities of Surrey, New Westminster, Port Coquitlam and the Fraser Valley. Access to the area will further be enhanced with the upcoming replacement of the Massey Tunnel (linking Richmond and the Delta/Tsawwassen area) with a proposed bridge to start construction in 2017.
